Not what the number is. Where it sits.

Anyone can tell you the price of oil. These pages tell you whether that price is unusual — by ranking every reading against the same series’ own trailing five years, the way the stress index ranks its inputs.

Each page states the date of its latest observation and how far behind that is. None of these are live quotes: the underlying series publish with a lag of one to eight days, and a page that hid this would be lying about the only thing that makes it trustworthy.

Every series is public, named, and re-fetchable. Everything here is open data under CC BY 4.0.

Reading date is the date the observation itself carries; the lag is how far behind today that publisher runs. Last updated is when we last fetched a number that had changed. Sources are checked four times a day, so a series can be current and still show a reading from several days ago. All times UTC.
