Corrections

Every correction and update to a TradeTurbulence piece, newest first, with what was wrong and what the piece says now.

When a piece gets something wrong, we fix the text and add a dated note at its foot saying what was wrong. This page lists every one of those notes. It is built from the pieces themselves, so it cannot leave one out. How we handle errors, and what does not count as one, is in our editorial standards.

Brent rose 23% in a month. The Hormuz counts point both ways · Markets, published 11 October 2026

An earlier version said the 22.7% rise was measured against the print 30 days earlier, here and in the standfirst. The base is the 4 September print, 32 days earlier, the last before the 30-day mark. It said the latest price was 7.4% below the year’s high: the 7.4% is measured against the 2 October print, and the latest price is 9.2% below the year’s high of $138.21 (7 April). It gave the September CPI gasoline nowcast without its unit, a change on the month, seasonally adjusted. It named a level of 120 for Lloyd’s weekly totals that no calculation supported; that sentence has been replaced. “As fetched today” now gives the date, 11 October.

When this piece was published, BfG had issued a newer one, at 07:00 on 11 October, which the page took up only at 18:59 UTC that day. “The 11 October readings so far” now gives the readings and the time they ran to.

An earlier version counted 26 days with energy above 85 inside a headline below 45. The archived series gives 24 below 45 and 26 at or below it; the sentence now says “at or below”. It also said STLFSI4 carries 30% of the index. The 30% is the weight of financial conditions, the component STLFSI4 shares with the VIX.

Kerch now moves in a month what it once moved in a day · Geopolitics & trade, published 15 August 2026

  5. · Correction

The dollar is at its 24th percentile. The rupee is at its 97th. · Markets, published 15 August 2026

An earlier version gave 119.13 as 2024’s floor. That was 2025’s (16 September 2025); 2024’s was 119.25 (8 January 2024). The sentence’s point, that 119.06 is below both, stands. A heading said thirteen days in fifteen years; the section counts fifteen, thirteen of them in 2026.
